a young person, regardless of age, should not need their parents permission in order to get her hands on the morning after pill or other contraception.

Parents need to educate their kids. They need to talk to them about sex, and tell them that if something happens, even after being safe, there are options.

I think the fact that some New York schools are offering free morning after pills and contraception to students is amazing! AMAZING!

teens have sex. teens make mistakes. teens need these options.

The fact that some parents are pissed off is pretty sad. You can opt out of the program, but who wouldnt want their children to have excess to such things? The only reason I can think of is because their scared their kids will go around having sex with everyone and not tell them if they need Plan B or Condoms. Huh, makes me think they dont trust their kids or give them the benefit of the doubt. Or that they are scared to talk to them about sex. You cant shield them forever! Its better to educate than to hide the truth. Sex isnt taboo, its normal, and it needs to be talked about. The more your teen knows, the less likely unwanted pregnancies and un safe sex takes place!!!!!!
