Allow me to throw something out there. I hate it when people say "God says animals were put on this planet for us to eat." Really now? What if intelligent life on other planets came to earth, and because we were less developed and couldn't defend ourselves against them, they decide they could eat us? What if their "god" said "less developed life forms were put in this universe for us to eat" how would you feel about that? Also, I find most omnivores to be hypocrites because they are against animal abuse so goddamn much. "You heartless souls, abusing those poor defenseless dogs and cats!" Do you think cows aren't developed enough to feel as dogs and cats do? Of course they have feelings too! How can one be mad at people for eating dogs and cats when you slaughter chickens, cows, lamb, rabbits, and pigs every fucking day? There are people in this world who have made strong emotional connections with animals you say "god put on this planet to eat." You are the hypocrites, not the vegans/vegetarians. ALSO, how can you not count fish as meat?! It has a face, a brain, it moves, wtf?

yeah, that’s great, but i wouldn’t do that. With LOTS of research and supplements, i’m sure dogs would be ok on a vegan diet, but cats, i highly doubt would be. I don’t think it’s natural for them to be on vegan diets.
Do you think animals (cats, dogs) should be vegan as well? I mean, they eat meat, and the way the pet food is manufactured is much worse than what is given to humans.

it depends if they try exploiting the animals in the process. (meaning if it’s like a zoo program, but the animals are still on display for profit)

What are your reasons for being vegan? Im just wondering. Because my veiw on veganism is that its not natural. Humans since the beginning have eaten animal meat the same as cats, dogs, lions, tigers, etc.
it doesn’t matter if we have eaten meat, people eat things all the time that isn’t healthy for them. the fact that animals are looked at as property and raised to be slaughtered is disgusting. veganism is all about making the choice to stick with natural, healthy, animal-less food. we have CHOICES in life, like having the choice to choose beans over another beings flesh. it doesn’t make sense to my why people can’t understand that.
If you could decrease or even eliminate the pain/torture caused to another being, why wouldn’t you?

If you quite rightly feel horrified at the Norway killings, then it surely naturally follows that you feel horror at the murder of ANY innocent being. You cannot ignore animal suffering simply because animals “are not us.”

i'm not looking for a response, because i've noticed that in every question from other people that deals with an opinion opposing yours, you become very defensive. I find it extremely hypocritical that you say puppy mills/pet stores are cruel to buy from, and you bought your pets from one because you wanted to "save them". In order to have any change in the food or pet industry, there will be animals that still suffer. You must look at the bigger picture of stopping it as a process rather than believing it must stop altogether at one point, and all animals from here on out will be saved. There will be a mass waste of animals that have already been killed or processed, it must first be approached in a preventative manner. I feel that so many vegans and vegetarians do not understand this, and they say one thing while their actions say otherwise.
Just something to think about, because I have found some of your explanations irrational. Not trying to push you down because I admire the emotion you have toward saving animals. Peace and tranquility.
No, I know it’s hypocritical, I never said it wasn’t. I love them so much and I feel like I did save them.
I do see the larger picture but christ, can someone give me a break here? I feel as though I’m being ridiculed for being a human. Yes I have flaws and make mistakes, and do hypocritical things.. but that’s just like everyone else.
